I’ve always been one to celebrate little moments and milestones and I’m documenting every little second of our beautiful baby girl’s life, including her one month birthday! I’ve been sharing them on Instagram, but they’re just a fraction of the captures I have of her. My parents have photo albums of us growing up and I’m spreading gratitude to myself at the moment for the ten years of memories I have on this little domain.
I’ve taken photos of Ophelia at each milestone. I think these that I took to celebrate one month are my favourite though. I can’t believe how grown up she looks at just one month old! Eyes fully open, looking around and offering teeny tiny smiles! I picked fresh hydrangeas from the bush opposite the old apple tree outside the sitting room window. The same bush I picked flowers from a week before Ophelia was born. Waiting patiently for her arrival.
The beautiful Moses basket she’s in was my Mums. My Grandmama made the trim for my Mum and Uncle when they were babies. I love sentimental pieces, so the fact that Ophelia sleeps in this when we stay at my parents makes my heart happy.
I can’t remember where her gorgeous outfit came from. I’m sure it was a very kind gift from someone. The most beautiful delicate pink striped romper with a gorgeous Peter Pan collar. I remember washing these frilly socks a few months previously and thinking how teeny tiny they were. It was such a revelation to put them on her perfect feet for the first time! I was fully convinced Ophelia would be born with no hair, so I made sure I had a draw full of hair accessories to cover a little egg head. No such accessories were needed, after she was blessed with a full head of hair! Still, they do look so cute and I can’t get enough of bows on her now! This particular one is from a brand called QueenMee Accessories that creates the most incredible hair accessories from bows to crowns.
These photos are the first where she started to really start to show a little personality at one month old. I loved them so much that we ended up using them for her birth announcement.
