Our five year wedding anniversary came around so fast. It feels like just yesterday I was waking up on the morning of my wedding, popping a bottle of champagne with my girls and toasting to an exciting day ahead. Now, five years later with a baby on the way, we decided to have a low key celebration at home. Our anniversary was all the way back in June, but I never got around to posting these photos.
The last year especially has taught us to appreciate the little things and to make the most of special occasions. Something I don’t naturally shy away from anyway. With a work project to do the morning of our anniversary, we already had a beautiful set up to enjoy for lunch. We both changed into something a little more extravagant. Poured some fresh apple and elderflower into coupe champagne glasses to toast to us.
A few suitable lunch time snacks; crisps and dip, hummus and crudités were all we needed. We sat under the dappled shade, enjoying our little garden picnic. Just the two of us, and little bump, of course. We spent the majority of the afternoon in that spot. Talking over the last five years. How quickly time has passed and all that we’re looking forward to for the next five years and beyond.
Typically we try and go abroad for our anniversary, and have had some incredible adventures in St Lucia, France and Thailand. Obviously for the last few years it hasn’t been possible, so when we finally are able to get away, we’re definitely going to make the most of it. It’s going to be slightly different with another addition, but we can’t wait for this next chapter.
For now though, we’re very grateful for good food, good drinks and a lovely Wedding Anniversary celebration together in our gorgeous garden.
