Alternative Loungewear that doesn’t look like Pyjamas

Lemon print trousers and off the shoulder white top, Fashion, Katie Heath, KALANCHOE

Alternative Loungewear that doesn’t look like Pyjamas really does exist. With my social media timelines currently full of loungewear options, I’ve been filtering through the masses to find the pieces that I actually wouldn’t mind being seen it. A lot of the options are extremely casual. But there are options for cosy stay-at-home chic outfits that you can also be comfortable in. This is exactly what loungewear means to me. An outfit that I’m happy to hold a video meeting wearing. But am just as comfortable sitting, legs crossed, on the sofa in.

It’s no secret that these cushions and these plant pots inspired a lemon obsession in me this spring. H&M have done a fabulous job of feeding this obsession of mine and created some great pieces that I’ve been coveting or have already added to my collection.

These trousers are just one of those pieces that have ‘accidentally’ fallen into my collection! They’re a super light weight jersey type fabric that would make a perfect beach cover up. If we were allowed to visit the beach (!) They also have pockets so are perfect for wearing around the house and carrying around your phone. I had a huge amount of compliments on the trousers, but even more on the top. Pairing a casual pair of trousers with a more detailed or structured top, immediately elevates an outfit.

I took the outfit a step further and paired it with wedges and a statement pair of earrings, but it would look just as fabulous with a crisp t-shirt and trainers.

Loungewear for me, means fabric, fit and move-ability. The fabric shouldn’t irritate the skin. It should be soft and stretchy. The fit should be comfortable and hug the body instead of being too tight or structured. Finally, I should be able to move around the house as though I’m wearing a second skin. I’ve included a few of my favourite alternative loungewear options below, to inspire you. I for one, feel so much better during all of this when I wake up, get dressed and put makeup on. We all have different coping mechanisms during this time though and we’re all doing what we can to get by. If you want to stay in your PJ’s all day, you go for it babe!
