Every year there’s one white summer dress that steals my heart. We have an addictive relationship while the sun shines, flirting in the warmth of the long days. The same fate is set for each however, they fall to the bottom of the drawer as the weather cools, only to be forgotten about when the year is up.
This dress is not just another white summer dress. This dress is light enough to keep you cool on the hottest days, it hugs all the right places and falls to the perfect length for summer beach days and is just as suitable for the races with royalty.
Wandering the town of Argostoli, the beautiful pastel walls and marbled floors played the perfect backdrop while we feasted on ice creams and drank iced coffee in the little coffee shops that snaked away from the central hub.
Eventually we came to an unassuming Greek restaurant and perched ourselves at a table outside in the courtyard. We ordered food to share and watched as the waiter placed a paper sheet on top of the table cloth then proceeded to shovel hot chips directly onto the table – well, it saves on washing up! We ate the best pork belly any of us have ever tried and revelled in the casualness of the meal, groaning at the size of our swollen tummies from consuming so much food.
Although, you couldn’t tell that I had a casual food baby hiding, thanks to my new white L.K.Bennett summer dress. Just another reason why it’s one of my favourite pieces of clothing this year.
Do you have summer staples you go back to again and again each year?
