The best thing about The Gentleman becoming a blogger is that we can start accepting projects to work on together. Our first fashion collaboration came pretty quickly in the form of Elliot Rhodes; a fantastic, completely personalising, belt company, specialising in exotic leathers.
All the Elliot Rhodes belts can be tailor made for your needs. You choose the colour, fabric, width, buckle and tightness around the waist.
Ben and I decided to pop down to the store together to choose our belts, each going for something slightly different. We were supposed to be shooting them in Scotland, but unfortunately I ended up with pretty severe food poisoning which meant that we had to postpone the shoot.
Instead, we took ourselves on a day trip to beautiful Greenwich by boat.
I hadn’t visited Greenwich since I first moved to London, a long time ago now. It was a gorgeous day and Ben hadn’t been before, so I was excited to show him around.
The Naval base was the perfect backdrop for us to showcase the stunning craftsmanship of the belts, and the weather decided to give us the most fabulous Autumnal light.
I decided to go for this beautiful pony hair, camel coloured, jeans belt with the Lion head buckle. I love animals on jewellery, gold and silver, so when the belt buckles came out I thought the Lion was too handsome not to keep. The camel colour works especially well for black, and is the perfect shade for this Autumn.
I have to admit that I’d never put much thought into my belts, but that was before Elliot Rhodes and this incredible belt. They very kindly put in an extra couple of holes, so that I could double up and wear it on my waist. I love the metallic detailing on the stitching and fasteners too, perfect to take it from day, to evening wear. This belt is going to be featuring a lot on my blog this Autumn. Have you tried Elliot Rhodes at all? Why not design your own for a completely personalised present for a loved one?
