I’ve said before that foundation is probably one of the most important parts of my makeup routine. A flawless finish is imperative to a good day and it plays a huge part in my daily mood!
Priya from Clinique offered to show me the Sonic System Cleansing Brush, along with their brand new Beyond Perfecting Foundation. At the same time, she promised to run me through the 3 step cleansing system to see what sort of effect it would have on my disgusting skin!
Priya sat me down and removed all my face makeup. She then ran me through everything she was going to use and proceeded to start.
Whilst I was having my lovely facial, The Gentleman was treated to his own (which I will come back and link up when it’s live!) I love that the two collections are so targeted. The men’s is all grey and sleek whilst the women’s is gorgeously girly with colours begging to be Instagrammed!
Of course, we started with the Sonic System Cleansing Brush along with the Liquid Facial Soap. She held the brush against my skin and switched it on (it automatically turns off after 30 seconds) it gently massaged my skin without any pressure, and tingled whilst cleansing. My skin is combination oily which meant that I went for the Skin Type 3 System.
After the brush, it was time for the Clarifying Lotion which acted like a runway, making a smooth landing for the moisturiser to glide across.
So of course, that meant it was then time for the Dramatically Different Moisturising Lotion+ a lovely light moisturiser with a yellow colour to give my skin a natural glow.
Because I suffer slightly from an uneven skin tone, Priya suggested using the Redness Solutions Daily Protective Base with SPF 15. Using an SPF is the best thing you can do for your skin to keep it youthful and protect it from wrinkles and sun damage. Of course, sometimes I don’t think these products make a difference. Which is why Priya completed one side, before rubbing in the other to show the difference between the two. It’s not a dramatic difference, but you can clearly see that the redness is reduced.
A different coloured product was next. This time a Superprimer Face Primer in yellow. The shade, again, helps to correct the redness in my skin and the Primer does what it says on the tin; primes the skin for the makeup. It just slightly airbrushes and balances the light to create a matte effect on my skin.
My favourite part came next; Foundation time! Time to test out the gorgeous Beyond Perfecting Foundation + Concealer. 02 in Alabaster was the best match for my skin. This foundation feels absolutely gorgeous, although I didn’t buy it because I’d just recently purchased a different Clinique Foundation. It will definitely be my next foundation buy though!
Another new one for Clinique are their Contouring Chubby Sticks. The Chubby Stick Sculpting Highlight was too cold for my skin tone as we were going for a warmer, summery look! Instead, Priya used the Chubby Stick Sculpting Contour instead for some proper Kardashian contouring! I was told to pout by the way!
To finish the look, a Different Lipstick in Sweet Honey.
So eventually everything that went into making me look like that, looked a little less compact!
But it did mean that The Gentleman and I were ready to go for a bit of a date! Although, I have to admit that using all of those products took a while. It’s definitely not something I would do all the time, but it was a lot of fun testing everything out and my skin felt and looked incredible!
Thanks so much Priya for having us – if you guys want to go and see her, pop into Oxford Circus Boots on a Sunday and head to the Clinique counter!
If you go any other time in the week, she won’t be there, instead she’ll be working hard at her exceptional career working towards a cure for Cancer. Yes – really, she just can’t leave the beauty world behind so works six days a week instead!
