Carmen Bar de Tapas

I get bored of one dish whenever I go out for dinner. Always wanting what someone else has on their plate and wanting to try everything. Throw that in with the lack of ‘date nights’ I’ve had recently (ie The Gentleman not taking me out for dinner, insert sad face here)

Tapas is the perfect cure to such a situation. So when strolling through Clapham on one of the last summer days, we stumbled upon Carmen Bar de Tapas. I’ve passed it enough times to know that it’s good, people are always huddled into the seats in the windows; gossiping over Sangria and giggling while munching through calamaris.

We sat back, soaking up the glorious sunshine and dipping fresh bread into thick balsamic and oil.

The locals flew down to inspect our sangria – although, they weren’t as welcome as they thought they were.

We ordered Queso Manchego – Manchego cheese (always heavily overpriced but exceptionally delicious!)

Presa Iberica – Pork with sun-dried tomatoes essentially.

The Gentleman had eggs on a bed of fried potatoes with chorizo.

Pulpo – Octopus on mashed potato and paprika

It was so lovely to spend some time together, plus the value for money is incredible which just makes it that much better! We could really be back in Spain… *sigh*
