The perfect way to travel and my current travel skincare routine

Katie, KALANCHOE Lintenair

Let’s face it, travelling is never particularly easy; especially when it’s over longer distances. It can quickly become the bane of my life when I need to make sure (and subsequently make sure again) that everything is in the right bag, I haven’t over-packed and that I haven’t forgotten to put my makeup bag in my suitcase. It is a very expensive mistake when they confiscate your £40 Dior Foundation because there are no little transparent bags to give you for your travels (sob).

Thankfully, there is a newly launched option in the travel space; Lintenair. With zero restrictions on luggage (so you can take whatever you want with you – yes, even liquids – within reason), city centre terminals at each destination, lower CO2 emissions than most other transport options and, thankfully, queue free boarding which you can manage all from your mobile. In the spirit of this more beautiful travel, I thought I would share with you my current skin care routine that I take with me on those very special trips.

Note: It may also help that I have also just found the holy grail in skincare combinations that I am 100% taking with me on every trip I do this summer. The combination of these products together is so intense, that it literally takes just one week to get incredible flawless skin – at least, it worked for me so maybe it will work for you too!

Morning:

Off goes my morning alarm; never a great sound. I start the day with a cleanse using the Micellar oil -putting a couple of drops onto dry hands and massaging it into my face then using a few drops of water to turn it into a milky consistency and washing off, then patting dry with a soft towel.

Next it’s time for a bit of moisture using the Hydra Floral spf30 anti-pollution hydrating fluid to protect my skin from both harmful rays and pollutants in the air.

I’m not a natural morning person, so a good eye serum helps me to see the world a little more clearly and the mirror does not lie; this serum gives me a gorgeous healthy sheen to the under eye area and helps smooth away any dark circles that might be lurking in those morning shadows. The only (slight) issue I have with this is that if you don’t rub it in quickly, it almost dries and flakes so you need to be alert to get it right!

Once the dark circles are banished, it’s oil time. I use oil on my face now every day, and have done for quite a while. It’s the perfect hydrator and leaves the skin glowing and dewy. Just a few drops rubbed into my hands is all it takes, breathing in the beautiful scent, before padding it all over my face and neck. To combat any unwanted shine throughout the day, I use a pressed powder over the top of my foundation to set it in place while the oil keeps my skin looking dewy and fresh.

Evening:

I try to take my makeup off as soon as I can when I start or finish a journey, or as soon as I walk in through the door in the evening. Usually I’ll use a cleansing wipe to get the bulk of it off, then follow up with the cleansing oil. I’ll put a pea size amount on a cotton pad and wipe the skin until any excess dirt/makeup is fully removed.

Next is the bit that I initially feared the most due to a specific dislike of needles; the skin roller. This is essentially a small hand held roller with tiny needles on that very gently prick your skin as you roll over it (they’re so small you barely feel them and I’m terrified of needles). I brush this firmly all over my face (being very careful not to go over the same area more than once) and then squeeze a few pumps of the rejuvenating serum onto my fingers and press it into my skin.

With the launch of Lintenair, I am definitely looking forward to being able to travel with all my skincare products to hand, and not stowed away, so that I can get to them whenever I need them. Travel, like skincare, should be simple and effective and neither your skin or your travel plans need that extra layer of stress usually associated with travel.
