The spring trends are my favourite of the year, the blossom on the trees makes me happy and the sunshine and later evenings inspire so much creativity in me.

The current trends tie in so well with spring and I’m making the most of the blossom while it’s here (probably just up until this weekend!) I thought I would share a few of my favourite trends with you and how I’m working them into my wardrobe.

Culottes – they’re here to stay and I’m so glad they are. This lilac pair are one of my favourites that I’ve come across so far. Culottes are so easy to wear and will be such a staple moving into summer. The wide legs help keep you cool and they’re so easy to wear for any occasion.

Embroidery – I saw a lot of embroidery on denim for AW16, but didn’t love any of it. Now that brands are starting to play around with different types of embroidery on different fabrics, I’m loving the trend a lot more. M&S have cracked it this SS17 with their collection which brings me on to my next trend…

Mules – The trend hasn’t gone anywhere for a long time and I’m only just coming around to it with my first pair. You guys have been obsessing over these £35 options and I have been wearing them non-stop since I bought them. Such a great investment and they work with a lot of outfits. The one rule to wearing mules is ensure there is enough gap between your ankles and the ends of your trousers/skirt/dress etc so that you don’t get swallowed up in the outfit!

Ruffles – If you follow me on Instagram, you’ll know I’m currently obsessed with them. The easiest way to work these into your wardrobe is through your tops and there are so many to choose from at the moment. This layered cape, capped sleeve ruffle top is such a great piece, worn with skirts, trousers, jeans… it can truly transition into any situation and be dressed up or down.
